Using Whole Dogg

The amount of supplement required will vary depending on recipe ingredients and individual dog needs.

Typically, for every 100g of dog food, 1 scoop (1g, less than 1/2 tsp) of Whole Dogg Balancing Supplement will be needed. For growing puppies and for cats, 2 scoops per 100g may be required.

For your 'average' cat, this would be about 2 scoops per day, and for 'average' dogs about 5 scoops per day for every 10kg of bodyweight.

At this dose, a tub of Whole Dogg will last about 4-8 months for a cat or small dog and about 1-2 months for a medium-sized dog.

Examples

The following are examples of complete and balanced recipes using the Whole Dogg supplement. For custom recipes appropriate for your dog, please consult with your veterinarian or nutritionist.

Chickpea Omelette

This recipe provides approximately 160 kcal, suitable as one meal for a small dog. 

Ingredients:
Silken tofu
Mixed vegetables
Firm tofu
Chickpea flour
Nutritional yeast
Whole Dogg Balancing Supplement
Black salt (kala namak)*
Turmeric
*For flavour, can be replaced with sea salt if preferred

  1. Mix the silken tofu with chickpea flour, nutritional yeast and salt.

  2. Gently heat the mixture, then add your dogs favourite vegetables - raw or cooked - on top.

  3. Remove from heat, wait until the food is cool enough for your dog to eat, then stir in the Whole Dogg Balancing Supplement prior to serving.

  4. Watch your dog enjoy!

Vegetable Stew

This recipe provides approximately 380 kcal, suitable as one meal for a small/medium dog. 

Ingredients:
White (button) mushrooms
Lentils, dry
Potato
Sweet potato
Mixed vegetables
Textured vegetable protein (TVP)
Red beans, dry
Chickpeas, dry
Barley, dry
Whole Dogg Balancing Supplement
Miso*
Sunflower oil
*For flavour, can be replaced with soy sauce / tamari if preferred

  • Cook the lentils, beans, chickpeas and barley in water or a low-sodium broth, stove top, crock pot or pressure cooker, until tender. 

  • Chop the potato and sweet potato and add to the lentils, beans, chickpeas and barley and continue cooking until tender. 

  • Mushrooms and vegetables can be added and cooked, or the stew removed from heat and mushrooms and vegetables added raw. 

  • Remove from heat and add TVP. This ingredient will absorb moisture, so additional water/broth can be added if required.

  • Allow to cool then stir in Whole Dogg Balancing Supplement, miso and sunflower oil prior to serving.

  • Watch your dog enjoy!

  • Breakfast Oatmeal

    This recipe provides approximately 510 kcal, suitable as one meal for a medium/large dog. 

    Ingredients:
    Oats, dry
    Mixed berries
    Apple
    Peanut butter*
    Non-dairy yogurt
    Seeds: pumpkin and sunflower
    Nutritional yeast
    Protein: pumpkin seed, pea or rice**
    Nuts: peanuts and almonds
    Soy protein
